Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable, high-performance applications using the latest versions of Java.

  • Architect and implement solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring optimal use of cloud services and resources.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

  • Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers.

  • Ensure the application architecture is robust, maintainable, and scalable.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for architecture and design decisions.

  • Stay current with the latest industry trends and technologies to bring innovative solutions to our projects.

  • Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Java Architect or similar role, with a strong portfolio of projects.

  • Extensive experience with the latest versions of Java and a deep understanding of Java frameworks and libraries.

  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including services such as Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage.

  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture and best practices for cloud-based application development.

  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

  • Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API design.

  • Proficient in SQL and NoSQL databases.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools, such as CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, and Terraform.

  • Knowledge of other programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Python, Go, Spring Boot).

  • Previous experience in a contracting or freelancing role.
